"french blue" table makeover

my mom offered me this little old table of hers, that she's had forever. i grew up with these in the living room, so they are undoubtedly sturdy and well made. unfortunately this little table wasn't quite my taste, so i felt a little tlc was needed for it to feel at home in my home!

here's a BEFORE:

i thought it had some interesting little angles on it, so worth a coat of paint. i choose CIL's "silver streak" and then realized it was too light. luckily i have an abundance of leftover paint from other projects in my furnace room. probably 4 or 5 shades of grey, 6 or 7 shades of white and around 6 shades of blue. so i added a little grey and a little benjamine moore - blue hydrangea to the "silver streak" and achieved what i call the perfect "french blue"

here's a "sneak peek" at the white floors as well! as you can see, no base yet or register covers!

updated pics below:  baseboards on!  very exciting!

happy painting to you all!

  5. Wow - your table makeover looks beautiful. I love a good before and after project. The new color gives it new life. I LOVE how it turned out! I'll have to keep my eyes open for great furniture at estate sales and try to see things as they could be instead of how they are...

  7. Oh my goodness this was such a lovely makeover. Its really hard to see past some of the "outdated-ness" of furniture so I really commend you for seeing the beauty of the piece and how far it could go with a makeover!

  8. I have 2 of these end tables and the coffee table to match. Thinking this might be a little much for one room??
